At the heart of all FedEx operations is a computer system that can handle more than 100 million daily electronic transmissions. But with lofty goals of 100% customer satisfaction and 0% downtime, FedEx needed to enhance its system with one that offered seamless access to, – and distribution of, – mission-critical data.

Delivering the performance FedEx required meant moving toward an open systems architecture that distributed vital data to where it was needed most: regional offices and stations. FedEx asked HP to create one of the world's most efficient open system implementations. At the core of this new globally distributed server implementation is HP OpenViewT technology, which allows FedEx to monitor its servers and distributed applications from a centralized location.

By leveraging the HP OpenView technology, FedEx has implemented one of the largest automated monitoring and performance management solutions in the industry.

FedEx looks for its HP OpenView environment to continue to raise the standard by which all other management solutions – and global delivery providers – are measured.
