By booking nearly $4 billion of travel a year, Travelocity® is able to negotiate thousands of great travel deals with the world's most reputable airlines, hotels, car rental companies and cruise lines on behalf of its 41 million registered users every day. Through a tight strategic collaboration with HP, Travelocity has not only helped create the online travel industry, they are re-defining the way it works today. Their secret weapon? P3 — precision, power and price — a revolutionary approach to booking travel online. The challenge? Provide customers with a way to bundle airfare and hotel choices, in turn saving travelers more money than if they had booked each component separately.

  Less planning, more tanning

Using a java architecture running on NonStopTM servers, HP services has helped Travelocity more than triple the number of options customers can choose from, including the ability to choose airline seating and hotel room types. As a further step in the customization process, travelers can now book airfare and hotels together and save even more than if they booked separately - all in less time than it takes to rent swim fins. They call this dynamic packaging Travelocity TotalTripSM getaways. Their customers call it "what I want, how I want it, for the price I want to pay."

With the help of HP people and technology, Travelocity has literally changed the way people go on vacation by putting control in the hands of travelers and providing three times the number of choices for their itineraries significantly faster than ever before - all while cutting cost of ownership.
